Liberty Newberry-Fetty joined the team in March 2014 and serves as the Business Coach for the Mid-Ohio Valley and Doddridge, Ritchie, Tyler, Gilmer clusters. Liberty brings her knowledge of quantity foods production, food safety and sanitation, and organic farming practices to her role as Business Coach for VC2. She also has direct working knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities that small growers are faced with in our region, through her ever-evolving position with Roane Grown Nursery in Spencer, where she tends to unique perennials and herbs that are sold at The Capitol Market in Charleston each spring. Liberty graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Consumer Foods and two certificates: one in Organic Horticulture and the other in Interdisciplinary Leadership and Service, and she spent her college years working in a small food co-op. Liberty enjoys all aspects of working with small food and farm producers in West Virginia; but she is especially fond of swapping stories and wisdom, and helping to connect the dots along the value chain to enhance connection among a variety of local food enterprises and agencies.
